SHOKEI GAKUIN UNIVERSITY

Master's Course in Humanics
Characteristics of Learning

Coursework that adopts human coexistence as the standard

The curriculum consists of three subject categories—advanced subjects, seminar subjects, and research guidance subjects. All three categories have been set as coursework in which students will undertake a systematic study of the various challenges of human coexistence.

Acquire advanced knowledge based on broad-ranging academic areas

The various problems related to human coexistence are difficult to address in any single, segmented discipline. In this Master’s Course, students will undertake interdisciplinary research into the various challenges related to human coexistence from multiple adjoining disciplines, including the study of religion, Bible studies, philosophy, ethics, and human development studies, as well as sociology, economics, multicultural inclusiveness theory, and community development theory.

Special Research to improve research skills

In Special Research, students will study research ethics, develop their research topic and plan, study the literature of prior research, conduct field studies, gather together materials, and prepare their research notes, undertaking concrete research activities toward writing of their Master’s thesis. With regular research guidance, they will develop advanced research skills through these various activities.
