Public Research Funding Management and Audit Frameworks

SHOKEI GAKUIN UNIVERSITY has proceeded with the establishment of frameworks for the proper management and auditing of competitive funding, including scientific and research funding, according to the Guidelines for the Management and Auditing of Public Research Funds by Research Institutions indicated in the notification by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology dated February 15, 2007.

Also, in response to the revision of these Guidelines of February 18, 2014 and the decision of the Minister of August 26, 2014 on the Guidelines for Responses to Fraudulent Conduct in Research Activities, the University has undertaken a review as part of that process, including clarifying the responsibility structure and establishing various regulations.

In addition to striving to raise further awareness among SGU faculty and staff, the University will continue to develop the environment for the proper management and auditing of public research funding in line with the above.

Basic Policy Concerning the Prevention of Fraud Regarding Public Research Funding, etc.

The basic guidelines for measures to prevent misconduct regarding public research funding, etc., have been established in the Basic Policy Concerning the Prevention of Fraud Regarding Public Research Funding, etc. of SHOKEI GAKUIN UNIVERSITY in 2015.

Code of Conduct Concerning the Use of Public Research Funding

Regarding the use of public research funding, the SHOKEI GAKUIN UNIVERSITY Research Ethics Charter, which sets out the duties and commitments with which SGU faculty and staff should comply, has been revised in 2016.

Based on the “Researcher Code of Ethics: 6. Prevention of Intellectual Misconduct” of the Research Ethics Charter, guidelines have been established for the handling of saving and disclosure of “research/survey/experiment data.”

Rules for the Handling of Public Research Funding

Regarding the use of public research funding, the SHOKEI GAKUIN UNIVERSITY Regulations Concerning the Handling of Public Research Funding Subsidies have been revised as the rules for the handling of proper operation and management in 2015.

The Regulations Concerning the Prevention of Fraud Regarding Public Research Funding Subsidies at SHOKEI GAKUIN UNIVERSITY, which stipulate the requirements for preventing fraudulent use of public research funding, have been revised in 2016.
