SHOKEI GAKUIN UNIVERSITY

Master's Course in Nutritional Science
Characteristics of Learning

Course structure that delivers systematic acquisition of highly specialized knowledge

Whether studying either the nutritional science domain or the health and nutritional design domain, an overview of health and nutritional science, which provides a bird’s-eye view of the issues, will be delivered in 1st Year. In Special Research, students will select and research a topic that interests them and develop the abilities required of highly specialist professionals and researchers. Their academic advisors will support the students’ research from all angles.

All elective subjects offer learnings from a broad range of perspectives

To allow students to identify the various challenges in the area of modern nutrition from broad perspectives, students can choose from all elective subjects, regardless of the domain of their research topic. Students study in a breadth of areas, instead of concentrating too heavily on one particular area. This course will cultivate people who possess more advanced knowledge and skills in the area of health and nutrition, as well as research and teaching skills.

Course delivery on Saturdays and Extended Study Scheme to suit students who are also working

The course delivery system makes it easy for working people who want to advance their career or deepen their knowledge. Intensive summer courses, Saturday lectures, and an Extended Study Scheme (pay for two years but study over 3-4 years) have been adopted. This enables working students to earn the required credits in the same way as full-time students.
