Globalization Vision
SHOKEI GAKUIN UNIVERSITY has a long history and tradition of consistently offering humanistic education based on the spirit of Christianity for more than 120 years and aims to cultivate people who can contribute to the enhancement of culture and to the welfare of humankind from global perspectives.
In 2022, SHOKEI GAKUIN will celebrate the 130th anniversary of its foundation. With the aim of cultivating people who can contribute to an increasingly complex international society, the University has established the following globalization vision.
- Globalization of the University
- We will promote acceptance of teachers and international students of foreign nationalities, enhance the environment for their acceptance, and encourage exchanges with students of the University.
- Promotion of Study Abroad
- We will continue and develop long-term and short-term study abroad programs and enhance programs that meet student needs.
- Enhancement of Language Education
- We will provide opportunities for concentrated language training, centering on Language Intensive Courses (English, Chinese and Korean), to improve students’ language skills.
- Cultivation of Overseas Employability and Provision of Employment Support in Japan for International Students
- We will continue our overseas internship programs to enhance the knowledge, abilities, and motivation to work that are needed in international society. We will continue employment support for international students.
- Partnerships with Overseas Universities
- While deepening cooperation with our existing partner universities, we will increase new partner universities in English-speaking regions, for which student preferences are high.
- Contribution to Globalization of the Region
- In collaboration with local governments, we will aim to become the university that leads the globalization of the south of Miyagi Prefecture, to contribute to the globalization of the region.
